I so relate to this! I love a fresh notebook and a good pen even if I do most writing on the computer. I also relate to that feeling of putting off the things we love - I'm not sure why, is it because I want to make sure I have the time and energy to do it justice? For me, it's dance :) I love it but I haven't done it for years. Could it be fear of starting again and not feeling the same as I did in the past? Not sure.... I always love reading your writing. Thank you and happy anniversary!

Thanks so much Jess. You might find this interesting…I went to a yoga class not so long ago which was run by a wonderful yogi in her 70s. She said to the class after the first pose, "remember it's yoga practice not yoga perfect". As I rolled my eyes, I almost missed her continuing, "so stay in your space on your mat and don't be in competition with anyone – especially yourself because we all change and move on." I'd never thought of it like that, but wise words and I think you could find a short class and literally and metaphorically dip your toe in! x

Love your writing and very happy selfishly that you’re prioritising doing more of it because I get to read it. The ‘flow state’ of creativity is so natural for humans and essential to our wellbeing I feel, thanks for reminding us all of that

As always a beautiful piece of writing and a very familiar subject. My friend calls it 'feeding the soul' - something we do for ourselves and not anyone else, hard to justify but essential. For me it is walking by the sea but I also love a new notebook, starting a new one makes me think of you. Sending love and a thank you for an important reminder at a very busy time! xx

Your friend is wise! Always happy to remind people to get their stationery kick and I know you love it as much as I do. Plus, given how busy you are being a student as well as a mum, wife oh and you, you, I say buy yourself five :) xx
